Step-by-Step Check-In Guide
1. Visit norwegian.com or open the Travel Assistant app. 2. Go to 'My Travels' or click the 'check in' button. 3. Enter your booking reference (6 characters) and last name. 4. Select your preferred seat if not already assigned (fees may apply for LowFare). 5. Provide Advanced Passenger Information (APIS) if required for your destination. 6. Receive your digital boarding pass on your smartphone or print it at the airport kiosk.
Documents Needed
Booking reference (6 characters), valid passport or national ID card (for Schengen area), and any required visas or electronic travel authorizations (like ETA for the UK). Proof of age for children under 18 may be required.
Seat Selection
Seat reservation is included in LowFare+ and Flex tickets. For LowFare tickets, seat selection costs 9.90 - 46.90 EUR per person, per leg. If you don't purchase a seat, one will be automatically assigned on the day of departure. Seats can be reserved up to 1 hour before departure.
International Check-In Rules
Valid passport required. Advanced Passenger Information (APIS) must be provided prior to travel, including passport details and nationality. Non-Schengen nationals entering the EU may need to register via the Entry/Exit System (EES) or ETIAS. UK travel requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for visa-exempt travelers.
Group Check-In
Group bookings can be made for 10 or more passengers. For groups of 10 to 15 people, booking individual tickets online (max 9 people per booking) is recommended if price is more important than flexibility. Families with children under 11 will be seated together or no more than one row/aisle away free of charge if seats are not purchased in advance.
Troubleshooting
1. 'Online check-in not available' - Some destinations or specific passenger types (e.g., unaccompanied minors, traveling with pets/weapons) require airport check-in at least 1 hour before departure. 2. 'Boarding pass from travel agency lacks info' - Use the Travel Assistant app to get a complete digital boarding pass. 3. 'Cannot select exit row seat' - Exit row seats have restrictions; children under 16, passengers with pets, or those needing assistance cannot sit there.
