Flight-earned Orbucks also have a hotel check-in timing rule. The current terms say the eligible hotel check-in must be at least 48 hours after the earning booking or on the flight departure date, whichever is earlier. This is not the same as using Orbucks to pay for a flight.
Silver status begins when a member joins. Gold requires four eligible hotel room nights in a calendar year, and Platinum requires twelve. Earning Orbucks does not itself create tier status. Keep rewards value separate from the flight decision: a restrictive fare does not become flexible because it earns Orbucks.
