Cabin Policy
Air France allows passengers to travel with a cat or dog in the cabin, provided the animal and its carrier weigh no more than 8 kg (17.6 lbs). The pet must be at least 15 weeks old and have all the necessary vaccinations. For flights within Metropolitan France and between Metropolitan France and certain overseas departments, the minimum age is 8 weeks. A single animal is permitted per passenger, and it must remain in its carrier for the entire duration of the flight. The carrier is considered an additional baggage item and will incur a fee. Only soft-sided carriers are accepted in the cabin, and their dimensions must not exceed 46 x 28 x 24 cm (18 x 11 x 9.5 inches). The carrier must be well-ventilated, and the pet must be able to stand up and turn around comfortably. It must be stowed under the seat in front of the passenger. It is important to note that pets are not permitted in the Business cabin on intercontinental flights. Passengers must book their pet's travel at least 48 hours before departure and present a completed and signed "AIR FRANCE KLM checklist for transporting cats and dogs in the cabin" at the check-in counter. This checklist can be downloaded from the Air France website. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in the pet being denied boarding.
Cargo Policy
For pets weighing more than 8 kg (17.6 lbs) and up to 75 kg (165.35 lbs), including the kennel, Air France offers transportation in the hold. The booking for hold transport must be made no later than 24 hours before departure. The acceptance of the pet is subject to the availability of space on the flight and compliance with all transport requirements. A surcharge is applied for bookings made less than 24 hours before departure. Passengers can purchase a suitable kennel for hold transport from the Air France Shopping website. As a Flying Blue member, you can earn and use Miles for this purchase. Snub-nosed breeds are not permitted to travel in the hold.
Breed Restrictions
Snub-nosed animals, such as pugs, bulldogs, boxers, Pekingese, Shih Tzus, or Persian cats, are not allowed to travel in the hold due to breathing difficulties. They may be accepted in the cabin, but it is recommended to seek advice from a veterinarian before traveling.
