Cabin Policy
Cathay Pacific does not permit pets to travel in the cabin of the aircraft, with the sole exception of certified service dogs. All other animals must be transported as cargo. This policy is in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers.
Cargo Policy
Pets are transported via Cathay Cargo. Bookings must be made through an IATA-accredited freight forwarder or by a holder of a valid IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR) training certificate. A number of documents are required, including import/export permits, health certificates, and vaccination records.
Breed Restrictions
The following fighting breeds of dog are not accepted: American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasiliero, and Japanese Tosa. Sphynx cats are also not accepted. Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds are only accepted on specific routes (Hong Kong to Melbourne/Singapore/London Heathrow, and London Heathrow to Hong Kong) and during certain months (January-May and October-December).
