Restrictions & Requirements

Breed Restrictions

  • Snub-nosed cat breeds like Exotic and Persian are not accepted.
  • Snub-nosed dog breeds like Pugs, Bulldogs, and Boxers are not accepted.
  • Several other breeds are restricted to cargo transport only, including American Pit Bull Terrier, Cane Corso, and Dogue de Bordeaux.

Temperature Restrictions

The transport of certain breeds of dogs and cats is restricted as these animals are susceptible to an increased risk of heat stroke when exposed to temperatures above 21°C (69.8°F). It is recommended to transport pets as cargo during the hotter months (May-October).

International Rules

  • A health certificate signed by a veterinarian within 10 days of travel is required.

Important Notes

Qatar Airways is one of the few airlines that allows falcons to travel in the passenger cabin. They also have specific restrictions on the transport of primates for research purposes and do not accept animals younger than 12 weeks.
