Capital One Venture X guide
Venture X combines everyday earning with travel benefits that depend on how you book and who is traveling. Rather than counting the benefits on the product page, ask which current rules fit the trips you already plan to take.
Facts reviewed · Review due . Issuer terms control.
Keep the annual fee separate from the benefits. Using the travel credit depends on an eligible booking, the required platform and its expiration date. Anniversary miles are a separate benefit, not cash that automatically offsets the annual fee.
Before using the annual travel credit, check your Capital One Travel account for the balance and expiration date. Read the full booking terms before checkout. If you cancel later, the credit's expiration rules still apply, so do not assume every cancellation restores an amount you can use.
Step 1
$395 annual fee.
See the current Venture X product page for pricing and benefit changes.
Step 2
Venture X offers 10,000 bonus miles after each anniversary beginning with the first anniversary.
Capital One labels this term Venture X Rewards; the miles do not have a fixed dollar value.
Step 3
Eligible primary account holders receive a $300 annual Capital One Travel credit toward purchases made through Capital One Travel.
It is portal-only, not cash, not a general statement credit, and not a value guarantee.
Step 4
The credit applies at Capital One Travel checkout, may be split across purchases, and expires on the next account-open-date anniversary.
The account must be open and in good standing to receive or use it. Rewards are not earned on the credit; a cancelled purchase restores it only if it has not expired.
Step 5
No foreign transaction fees; Capital One states that no transaction fee is charged for purchases outside the United States.
This does not address exchange rate, dynamic currency conversion, cash-advance, merchant, or third-party charges.
The booking channel matters as much as the earning category. Compare the itinerary, total price, cancellation rules and any loyalty-program treatment before choosing where to book. A higher earning rate alone does not establish which booking is better for your trip.

Earning and conditions
Unlimited 10X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
The booking must be through Capital One Travel; this does not extend to direct bookings or unlisted travel purchases.

The booking must be through Capital One Travel; this does not extend to direct bookings.
Unlimited 2X miles on all other purchases, every day.
Subject to the account rewards terms; miles are not a stated cash value.
Capital One’s current table lists 5X miles for activities through Capital One Travel and Capital One Entertainment purchases.
Activity bookings must be through Capital One Travel; Capital One Entertainment eligibility follows its platform terms, and rewards can be reclaimed for cancelled or returned purchases.
Start a lounge check with your airport and travel party, not the size of the network. Check which locations participate, whether your cardholder status qualifies and what each companion would pay. Even with enrollment and a qualifying boarding pass, entry is not guaranteed when a lounge is full.
Separate additional-cardholder access from guest access. A paid access benefit for an additional cardholder is not a complimentary guest allowance. The spending-based guest benefit also has its own network and validity rules, so check the location-specific conditions before relying on it.
The primary Venture X cardholder has complimentary Capital One Lounge and Landing access.
The account must be in good standing; a card or digital lounge pass and qualifying boarding pass are required, and access is subject to availability.
Primary Venture X cardholders have complimentary participating Priority Pass lounge access after enrollment.
The primary cardholder must enroll; only participating lounges qualify, and availability and Priority Pass terms apply.
Additional cardholders, including authorized users and account managers, do not have complimentary lounge access under current rules.
They may be added or retained without lounge access for no fee.
Airport lounge access for an eligible additional cardholder can be purchased for $125 per person per year and includes unlimited Capital One Lounge, Landing, and participating Priority Pass access.
The person must be at least 18, eligible for online access, and have a verifiable SSN; Venture X permits up to four additional cardholders. The fee charges to the primary cardholder, renews annually unless cancelled, cannot be paid with account credits, earns no rewards, and still requires Priority Pass enrollment.
Current guest-pass prices are $45 per guest age 18 or older and $25 per guest age 17 or younger; children under two are free.
These are per-visit fees. Entry requirements and availability apply; do not treat them as complimentary access.
A primary or paid-access additional cardholder can buy a participating Priority Pass guest pass for $35 per visit per guest.
Only participating lounges qualify. The $75,000 Capital One Lounge and Landing guest benefit does not apply to Priority Pass.
At $75,000 in calendar-year combined net purchases, a primary cardholder can bring up to two complimentary Lounge guests and one complimentary Landing guest per visit; paid-access additional cardholders get the same benefit.
The spend is combined across cardholders on the Venture X account. This does not apply to Priority Pass; cash advances, balance transfers, account fees, checks accessing the account, credits, and returns do not count.
The $75,000 complimentary-guest benefit lasts for the calendar year earned, the following calendar year, and through the following January 31.
The stated benefit is for Capital One Lounge and Landing access, not Priority Pass access.
Visitors need a confirmed-seat boarding pass for a same-day departing or connecting flight; standard departure entry begins up to three hours before departure.
Access is subject to availability. Visitors under 18 need a supervising parent or legal guardian; arriving passengers without a connection are not admitted.
Choose your redemption route before comparing results. Booking through Capital One Travel, covering an eligible recent travel purchase and transferring to a loyalty program are different processes. Their terms and redemption rates need not be the same, and a mile does not have one guaranteed value across them.
Step 1
Miles do not expire for the life of the account, but Capital One says unredeemed miles can be lost if the account is closed or not active or in good standing.
The no-expiration statement applies for the life of the account; account status can affect unredeemed miles.
Step 2
Miles can book Capital One Travel inventory, cover an eligible recent travel purchase within 90 days, or be transferred to partners.
Recent-purchase eligibility generally depends on merchant category code, and Capital One is not responsible for how a merchant assigns that code.
Step 3
Officially listed non-portal redemption routes include gift cards, statement-credit or check cash back, Amazon, PayPal, and Capital One Entertainment.
An eligible account and any applicable platform terms apply. Capital One says redemption rates vary and are subject to change; routes do not imply equal value.
A transfer moves your miles to the receiving loyalty program. Before moving them, check the award you want, the current conversion ratio and the program's booking rules. A favorable ratio does not create award availability or guarantee a useful redemption. Finalized transfers cannot be reversed back to Capital One.
A partner transfer requires at least 1,000 Capital One miles and a name match between the Capital One and loyalty accounts.
An eligible Capital One travel-rewards cardholder and matching loyalty account are required; partner participation, programs, and conversion ratios can change.
Capital One currently lists most airline partners at 1:1, Emirates, EVA Air and Japan Airlines at 2:1.5, JetBlue at 5:3, Choice and Wyndham at 1:1, I Prefer at 1:2, and Accor at 2:1.
A participating partner and its current terms apply. A conversion ratio is not a redemption-value guarantee.
Finalized transfers cannot move back to Capital One; the receiving program’s terms apply.
This applies after a Capital One miles transfer is finalized, and all redemptions are final.
Read the protection that matches your situation before paying for a trip or rental. The payment requirement, covered event and exclusions determine whether a claim can qualify. Keep the booking, payment and disruption records; a benefit name does not promise reimbursement for every related expense.
The summaries below describe the Visa Infinite guide currently linked by Capital One for Venture X. Eligibility and claims are subject to the full guide and any applicable issuer notices. Check your account's current benefits before relying on coverage, especially if a trip involves an excluded vehicle, destination or event.

Eligible Venture X accounts can receive up to $120 for an eligible Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee, once per account every four years.
Use an eligible U.S.-issued card and pay an official provider directly; the account must be open and in good standing at fulfillment. PayPal and another-card payments are ineligible, the credit only matches the fee up to $120, and Capital One can reverse it under listed conditions.
Use your expected travel pattern as a research checklist, not a score. Consider whether you would make eligible portal bookings before the credit expires, which airports and companions matter, and which redemption process you understand. Answer those questions without treating advertised benefit amounts as a promised personal return.

For a specific award trip, move from product research to the booking task. Compare cash and award costs, review the airline program, and check transfer requirements before committing points or miles. These tools help organize a decision; they do not recommend a card or guarantee savings.
